SunUp to Manage IPTV VOD branch for Bell Aliant with Microsoft Mediaroom

Santa Clara, CA - SunUp today announced that it has been selected by Bell TV in order to create and manage the content and offers for Bell Aliant’s IPTV VOD storefront using Microsoft Mediaroom. As part of this software upgrade SunUp’s TCS will manage the complete lifecycle of the VOD assets for Bell Aliant including creation of a separate branch for Bell Aliant, automatic deployment of the VOD assets for Bell Aliant’s IPTV service & the Offer management using Microsoft Mediaroom Web Services API. Additionally, Bell will use SunUp software to manage the settlement of content providers for these assets.

Bell already uses the SunUp TCS system to manage its linear and VOD IPTV services where Bell can manage the contracts with content providers and create and manage the asset metadata and ingest of the content coming in from providers directly or from content aggregators. Additionally, Bell can create its own branding for the assets and create innovative offers of various flavors of VOD (SVOD, Package VOD, FVOD, etc.) and manage the posters and trailers associated with the VOD assets, specifically to selectively replace the content provider supplied trailers with its own trailers promoting other services. Bell can also create ad-hoc Package VOD offers using the SunUp system where SunUp system insures that it is deployed in Mediaroom compliant manner.

Bell also takes advantage of the TCS product in order to electronically communicate across various departments such as Programming, Marketing, Traffic, and Broadcast Operations with a unified suite of applications and user interfaces that enable these groups to have visibility across departments and ability to plan ahead for their services. Bell also uses the SunUp system to communicate these offers to their Subscriber Management System and to compute amounts owed to content providers based on actual number of buys.

The new software will create the most powerful features of SunUp software where the management of differentiated Storefronts for the bilingual needs - Montreal (French) and Toronto (English) branches of Bell’s IPTV services is enhanced to target content based on rules as applicable to Bell Aliant.
