Module Overview
Asset Manager organizes and streamlines each step in asset distribution– from
import of asset metadata and content, to preparation of content
for the service offers, to reliable distribution of content and
its subsequent removal. A configurable workflow manager ensures
that all user-defined steps for the NOC or specific to the content
are appropriately executed. Content is automatically distributed
based on contract information or via user defined rules with full
knowledge of network resources. Discrepancy-based monitoring provides
exceptional visibility into any potential content provisioning
problems.
Business Rationale
Flexible and scalable Asset receipt and validation, distribution,
and life cycle management is the core component of any content
network operations center (NOC). Content life cycle management
can be a complex and time-consuming task, depending on the quantity
and format of content received, the localization needed, and the
complexity of the storage and delivery network. SunUp's Asset Manager
increases day-to-day efficiency and reduces errors by automating
the receipt validation, metadata QC, proxy creation, distribution,
tracking, and purging of content for complete content lifecycle
management based on contractual constraints. Asset Manager automates
large portions of the content distribution system and VOD network
workflow. Asset Manager interfaces with business systems, MAM systems,
servers, storage systems, and content delivery networks to simplify
and provide a seamless and unified user interface for the entire
operation. Asset Manager integrates fully with other optional SunUp
software modules to facilitate even greater overall operational
efficiencies.
